we have grass!

This is huge! with two boxers and no sprinklers we had given up. But then annabelle came around, she's going to need an outdoor space of her own that is poop free-complete with a tree swing.

So we had Chris build a fence on one side of the house for the dogs. what is now lush green grass was all dirt not long ago.
Then Dimmi came and put in a french drain. You can see it to the left side of Boston.
The grass was looking so good i was inspired me to plant some fall flowers
I even planted some tulips (my favorite flower) in the pots, with the pansies. I totally copied Chesapeake, they have the most gorgeous tulip/Pansie combo in the spring. I couldnt pull out the geranium though- can you see it about to bloom?? i decided she could stay for that last flower's sake.
My new backyard wouldnt have been complete for the season without a pumpkin. I think my backyard now looks much better than my front yard.

Blessing

Minus the whole needing surgery/no paycheck part of being hit by a car, having alfie home has been a blessing. annabelle is totally smitten with him. i actually found myself a little jealous yesterday because she would only smile at him. i got worried she liked him more than me. i guess that whole daddy's little girl relationship starts early.
Of course he and i have lots of fun together too. This is how we spent our afternoon together yesterday. Fall has been so beautiful this year!
Correction- Oklahoma is actually having the season of Fall. Usually it goes from crazy hot (why do pools have to close on Labor Day) to freezing cold with ridiculous wind gusts (that make you wish you didnt have bangs) with perhaps a day or two, of what could be referred to as Fall, in between.

Where is Fall?

Picnics in September should be enjoyable. One should not be so hot they are literally dripping in sweat after approximately 5 minutes of being outside. Scratch that, i was hot the second i got out of my car. If you look close every little cheek is red. They probably could have stayed longer, i was the wimp that was ready to go!!
September has always been my favorite month because it is the beginning of my favorite season. The season of layers. This probably started back when i lived in Boston. If you haven't been to Boston during September, you should put it on your to do list. The cool crisp breeze of fall, the crunch of fallen leaves, the colors of the leaves, the smell of apple cider!! i know, it sounds like i am writing poetry here, but seriously, Oklahoma get a clue!! When September rolls around its time to leave the 90 temps behind. And I'd actually enjoy having more than 2 days of layering before it becomes bundling for winter...

What have I been doing?

Well, getting with the spirit and doing some decorating...

Getting my toes done with friends, sorry no action shot, much too busy catching up!

Reading this book. I'll let you know what I think when I finish

Helping the economy and updating my fall clothes. My sweet husband spent Saturday shopping with me for fall attire (his idea) and then took me for ice cream!

Watching this movie! Seriously started tearing up for the polar bears! Great watch, only a dollar at Red Box!
